Ahmed Wasi is an Indian poet, ghazal writer and a radio announcer.
He was born in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. Ahmed Wasi joined the Vividh Bharati service of All India Radio as a radio announcer for "Hello Farmaish" in 1963. He also wrote nazms and ghazals for Urdu magazines. The ghazal "Shaakh Se Toot Ke Girne Ki Sazaa Do Muhjko, Ek Patta Hi To Hoon Kyon Na Hawa Do Muhko" was one of his most popular ones.
In 1973, he wrote a cabaret song "Aa Ke Dard Jawaan Hai" for the film "Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye". He also wrote songs for the film “Heera Moti" in 1979. Ahmed Wasi published collections of his poems such as "Behta Paani" (1983), "Baadalon Ke Shaher" (1996) and "Titiliyan" (2007).
