Dilip Kumar cannot die he will live forever in the hearts of cinema lovers

Dilip Kumar (born Muhammad Yusuf Khan  11 December 1922- 7 JUly 2021) was also known as Tragedy King, and described as "the ultimate method actor" by Satyajit Ray. He debuted as an actor in the film Jwar Bhata in 1944 produced by Bombay Talkies. His career has spanned over six decades and with over 60 films. He starred in films of a variety of genres such as the romantic Andaz (1949), the swashbuckling Aan (1952), the dramatic Devdas (1955), the comical Azaad (1955), the historical Mughal-e-Azam (1960) and the social Ganga Jamuna (1961).
In 1976, Dilip Kumar took a five-year break from film performances and returned with a character role in the film Kranti (1981) and continued his career playing leading roles in films such as Shakti (1982), Karma (1986) and Saudagar (1991). His last film was Qila (1998).
He is the winner of 9 Filmfare Awards and is the first recipient of Filmfare Best Actor Award (1954). He still holds the record for the most number of Filmfare awards won for that category with 8 wins. Critics acclaimed him among one of the greatest actors in the history of Hindi cinema. The Government of India honored him with the Padma Bhushan in 1991, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 and India's second highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan in 2015 for his contributions towards Indian cinema and nominated him to Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Indian Parliament for a term. The Government of Pakistan honored him with its highest civilian honor, the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, in 1997.

Dilip Kumar first fell in love with married actress Kamini Kaushal. He then was in love with the actress Madhubala but they parted ways as her family was opposed to their union. Vyjayanthimala was considered by film fans as Kumar's third love; they have denied rumors of an affair. Both of them have had many successful films as a pair in the period 1955 to 1968. He married actress Saira Banu, who was 22 years younger than him, in 1966. He married a second time in 1980 to Assma but the marriage ended soon after. Dilip Kumar undertook a pilgrimage to Mecca in 2013 along with his Saira.
Dilip kumar and Kamini Kaushal
Dilip Kumar apparently fell in love with renowned actress, Kamini Kaushal. It was on the sets of Shaheed that their love blossomed. They were planning to marry as well, but Kamini's brother was against the relationship. Since Kamini was already married to her late sister's husband. They worked together in 4 movies; Arzoo (1950) Shabnam (1949), Nadiya Ke Paar (1948), Shaheed (1948)
Dilp Kumar and Madhubala
Dilip Kumar was engaged to be married to Madhubala. However, it was rumoured that the two broke up due to Dilip's ego issues. Apparently, Madhubala wasn't being allowed to shoot at a particular location and the producer of the film had asked Dilip to convince her father. He tried to do so but failed and the actress refused to disobey her father. When it came to their marriage, Madhubala asked him to apologise to her father but Dilip refused to do so and the two broke up. Madhubala was reportedly madly in love with Dilip Kumar and was apparently very sad when he got married to someone else.
The screen icon fondly remembers Madhubala as a great artiste and "vivacious and spirited person" with whom he attained an ease while working in 1951 film "Tarana". Their pairing in K Asif's "Mughal-E-Azam" made headlines because of rumors about their emotional involvement, which made the director very happy. Madhubala confided to Asif about her feelings for Kumar and the director encouraged her. But unfortunately things soured badly during the long production of the classic. Their relationship worsened during the shooting of the film. Kumar reveals that the feather scene, described as one of the most sensuous moments in Hindi cinema, was shot when they had stopped speaking to each other. The actor says the tribute for that scene should go to "the artistry of two professionally committed actors" for keeping aside their personal differences to carry out the vision of the director. They worked together in 4 movies; Mughal-E-Azam (1960) Amar (1954) Sangdil (1952) Tarana (1951)
Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala
Vyjayanthimala and Dilip Kumar worked together in 7 movies; Sunghursh (1968) Leader (1964) Ganga Jamuna (1961) Paigham (1959) Madhumati (1958) Naya Daur (1957) Devdas (1955).They were known for their on-screen chemistry between them. Although both of them denied their relation outside. But it was claimed by their film set members that she had a huge crush on Dilip. Film historians Bunny Reuben and Sanjit Narwekar confirmed the Dilip's-Vyjayanthimala's affair where they had said that Vyjayanthimala was Dilip's third love after Kamini Kaushal and Madhubala.
Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu

After his break up with Madhubala, Dilip Kumar had stayed away from love and relationships for quite some time. But, he moved on after meeting Saira Banu. When the actor was introduced to Saira Banu, he apparently considered her to be “too young” to be paired opposite him in the movie. Saira had even confessed that she was in love with Dilip's on-screen image since the age of 12. Saira Banu is daughter of actress Naseem Banu and film producer Milan Ehsan-ul-haq. Dilip Kumar married the beauty queen Saira Banu in year 1966 when she was 22 and he was 44.Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu have worked jointly in 6 movies; Duniya (1984) Bairaag (1976) Sagina (1974) Chhoti Bahu (1971) Gopi (1970) Sagina Mahato (1970)
